This month’s Santa Monica Pulse poll asked residents about a recent decision by the US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to cut federal funding for the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) over LAHSA’s failure to reduce homelessness in the LA area. Santa Monicans resoundingly supported the move, with 84 percent of respondents saying they were in favor of it. Nine percent of respondents opposed the decision.
We also polled residents on their opinion of a recent dispute between UNITE HERE Local 11 and local business California Roadhouse. 77.7 percent of respondents supported California Roadhouse, and just 2.7 percent supported UNITE HERE. Our polling has found consistent opposition to UNITE HERE Local 11. A February poll found that 80 percent of respondents opposed a Local 11-backed ballot initiative, for example.
